Dental Implants Highlands Ranch Colorado, Denver Dentistry

Highlands Ranch dentists, Dr. James DeLapp and Dr. H. Candace DeLapp attended the Denver Implant Study Club meeting on February 19th at the MDDS building. The course was entitled Direct loading of dental implants indications and contraindications. In this course there are a few instances in which dental implants "may" be loaded immediately. This course helps give all dentists an idea of which cases may be handled in this manner. These Highlands Ranch dentists serve the , Lone Tree, Castle Pines, Parker, Centennial Greenwood Village, Denver, and Ken Caryl area.

Ankylos by Dentsply is a particular type of dental implant that whose design is made to be loaded immediately (in some... not all cases). Each manufacturer dental implants have pluses and minuses and no one system seems for fulfill all dental needs. Getting a broad spectrum of dental implant systems gives us the best opportunity to select the best implant system for our Highlands Ranch Dental patients.

In this course it was discussed that four (4) Ankylos dental implants may allow for immediate placement and loading of the denture. The taper of the abutment increases or decreases the retention of the removable denture. These abutments can be changed our as needed in each individual case.

Cosmetic Dentistry Highlands Ranch (303) 694-9740

Highlands Ranch dentists, Dr. James DeLapp and Dr. H. Candace DeLapp use a diagnostic wax up to determine if you are a candidate for cosmetic dentistry. Our Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree Dentists determine "potential" outcomes on a model of your teeth to determine if the results you wish are "possible". This model while not a perfect indicator of outcome... gives us a more predictable "idea" than simple dental imaging can. Soft tissue contours (gums etc.) are some of the more difficult areas to predict in smile design and are managed as best as we can. Please feel free to contact us for an appointment today at (303) 694-9740.

Determine what "style" of teeth you would like-

One of the first steps our Highlands Ranch dentists work with you is the "style" of teeth you wish to have fabricated. Some of the many choices include: Additional articles on a variety of dental topics can be found by clicking on the following link dental article library.

  • Teeth that are rounded at the incisal edges
  • Teeth that are flat across
  • Teeth that are more square shaped
  • Teeth that are more "oval" shaped
  • ... and many more choices

Teeth have different shapes and edges that give very distinctly different appearances. Some styles are flat... others slightly rounded... and others oval. There are many to choose from. We make a "style" selection (e.g. "youthful" "mature"... "Hollywood") and the dental laboratory will wax your style over your existing teeth to see if this is the change you desire. It gives us a preview or what is and what is not possible.

Dr. James DeLapp and Dr. Candace DeLapp's dental laboratory fabricates a diagnostic wax-up from your model for your review and approval. Using the style you have chosen the dental laboratory fabricates the shape and style of your new dental veneers. You and the doctors can review the changes and determine if you want to proceed with treatment. If you decide to proceed, we use this wax- up to fabricate your temporaries that you wear while the dental veneers are being fabricated. In a sense you get to have a trial run on the dental veneers! After you have worn the temporaries for a week or so and have approved the style... your veneers are finished to this form so there are no major surprises.

Complimentary Cosmetic Dentistry Consultation

You should feel free to call and schedule a complimentary cosmetic dental consultation. A complimentary cosmetic dental consultation provides the following:

  • It provides a no-cost visit to see if you are a "candidate" for dental veneers or any other cosmetic dental procedure (dental veneers, tooth whitening, and/or Invisalign orthodontics).
  • It allows you to have your questions answered ahead of time and to decide if our Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree dental office is the right fit for you.
  • It gives the Dr's James and Candace DeLapp the opportunity to evaluate the level of complexity of your esthetic dental case.
  • A few esthetic veneer dental makeovers are complex and the Dr.'s Candace and James DeLapp can at least give you at least an "idea" of how complex your case will be and their recommendations for your best result.

Is our Highlands Ranch Dental Office convenient to you? Most of our dental patients come from the Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Castle Pine, Centennial area as well as the Englewood, and Arapahoe County area of the South Denver Metro Area.

Phelan and Heindl in a 2006 AACD article have one of the best articles ever written on the Diagnostic wax up and its use. Dental students should use this reference on this subject.

If you decide to proceed with dental treatment, of course, we would need to have you make a dental appointment for dental records so we can plan and proceed with treatment. Please feel free to contact our Highlands Ranch dental office at (303) 694-9740.
